DIY Tips for Removing Permanent Marker Marking from Tile Floor

Kids in Gold Coast often have a tendency to use floors for practicing their arts and crafts. So, if you have a kid at your home in Gold Coast, you may probably have permanent marker spots on your tiles as well. For all those parents who are not aware of how to clean these tiled floors that have spots of permanent markers, here are a few tips for you. The tips are provided by Tile and Grout Clean, an expert in tile cleaning in Gold Coast.

If the spot is not quite dark or old, use a dry erase marker for marking over the permanent marker spot. This thing needs to be done very carefully. No trace of the permanent marking must be there. The tile must then be cleaned using a dry erase eraser. It should be erased over the spot. Doing this is definitely going to leave the floor clean. If you find the floor still has the spot, repeat the method until it gets removed completely.

If the stain is dark and old, then the earlier method of cleaning might not help to get the marking removed. In that case, you need to use toothpaste. Yes..you have read it right! It’s toothpaste. Apply toothpaste to the tile at first. Then use an old toothbrush that has hard bristles to remove the permanent marking. You will need to have a bit of patience for doing this task. Then wet a cloth that’s soft and make use of it for wiping the tile. Toothpaste actually has a bleaching agent and that basically helps in removing the stain.

Even after using toothpaste, if you have been unable to remove the stain off the floor, use hairspray. Spray directly to the marking. Leave for some time and allow it to sit. Then wipe it using a wet cloth.
If you can see the marking after all these, use a magic eraser. Home improvement stores generally stock magic erasers. They are expensive but very effective in removing the markings of the permanent marker. People usually try them when the other solutions failed to remove the mark. However, keep on rubbing the magic eraser until the stain is gone.

You can also use a nail polish remover for removing the stain off the tile floor. But this involves a bit of risk. The remover may damage the tile. It may get discolored or the covering may be peeled off. However, there were many homeowners who were of the opinion that it was only the remover that could of great help to them for removing the permanent marking of the marker and that also without any damage to their tiles.

However, even after putting so much effort, if the marking still remains, then a professional who is specialized in tile and grout cleaning in Gold Coast must be consulted.
